This Week’s Star Pupils are:
Well done all.
Yet another fantastic performance!!
All the children deserve to be stars this week, for all their hard work learning their parts and practicing and then being truly amazing on the night.
Many thanks to all those who turned up to help set the stage up! Thanks also to Thomas’s mum for supplying us with the huge pieces of card we used for our scenery (courtesy of M&S) and to Cody and Rosanna’s mum for coming into school to help create the scenery. Thanks for all the work parents have put in to getting the costumes too.
Macy’s dad has suggested that some parents may like to donate costumes for use in future plays, which school would be happy to accept and store.
Thank you to the PTA for providing much needed refreshments for both the children and the audience.
We’re very sorry that the office was not manned for telephone messages on Wednesday. Unfortunately, Mary was off ill and all staff and children were up at the village hall.
If this should happen again, we do have the school mobile phone with us at the hall: 07961084194 or leave a message on the school answer phone.
Experience the Iron Age
Class 2 and 3 are going out to the Discovery Centre for the day on Wednesday, all day. This will build on the work about the Stone Age that they have been doing with Mrs Thomas and develop an understanding of the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. They will need a packed lunch; water bottle and come dressed in their uniform and prepared for the weather of the day. The children are able to bring some money to spend in the shop but we would ask that the amount they bring is no more than £2.
SHROPSHIRE SUMMER SCHOOL GAMES
All of KS2 went along to represent South Shropshire at various events at this Summer’s Sports Festival. What a wonderful day we all had and a great achievement to take so many of our pupils to take part in 6 activities, when most schools could only select a restricted number for 1 or 2 events.
A great accomplishment which enabled all our KS2 pupils to be involved.
The morning was very successful … our rounders team came 2nd and our dodgeball team won 4 games and drew 1 and were the WINNERS beating all the other regions.
Sorry I can’t name all the teams but the winning dodgeballers were Jake D, Harrison, James, Matthew, Lauren, Honey and Macy. Well done to you all and especially Matthew Year 4 playing against Year 6’s. We also competed in cycling, mini tennis and in the afternoon archery and Tri golf. All the children were so well behaved and enjoyed the extra activities when not competing. Well done to all!
Over the weekend Tess took part in the Shropshire Development Meet at Wolverhampton Swimming Pool. She won two bronze medals – in 100 front crawl and 100 fly. Tess is now of the Shropshire’s top 3 swimmers.
