Well done!

 Mrs Hughes

Many thanks to everyone who sent in nibbles and cakes for our farewell to Mrs Hughes, which helped to make it a special occasion. Class 3 presented some memories and all the school sang her a song; staff presented her with a picture of Wistanstow School by local artist Katy Alston; Councillor Evans presented a Long Service Award; staff and children enjoyed a relaxed hour with Mrs Hughes, sharing the food and talking to past teachers. Head teacher and pupils also came to say their own goodbyes and have a look at how the school has changed in recent times. All visitors were complimentary about how the school looked and, of course, our lovely children.

Remember, please send any donations towards her goodbye fund by Monday to be donated to Mrs Hughes chosen charity ‘Mind’.

We have had quite a few orders in for photos but if you haven’t sent yours in yet, could you please do so by Monday morning at the latest, as we want to get the orders sent off, in order to get them back before the end of term.

Many thanks to the PTA for funding the trip to Theatre Severn to see Snow White, as it is a great experience for children to experience live theatre with all their friends.

“It was really, really good and the best part was…all of it.”  “There were some really good jokes, but especially the 42 fish jokes bit.” “I loved it. It was amazing.” “Can we go again next year?”

 Water Bottles

There were a number of children without a water bottle on Thursday. We think that is important for children to drink water during the day, so it is important that children have their water bottle with them every day in order to be able to have a drink whenever they want to.

Staff spent time this morning washing and filling water bottles for those children who didn’t have one to take to the Panto to ensure that they were able to have a drink.

Dinner money

Please could we ask that you make every effort to clear any outstanding arrears in time for the Christmas holidays?  If anyone is consistently having difficulty in paying their dinner money, please get in touch on a Friday and we will try and organise a payment method to suit.

Also please remember that cheques should have your children’s full name on the reverse.       Thank you,  Julie Saunders
