Well done!

We are making our last Christmas collection for Oxfam this week, as we extended the time due to school snow closure. Anyone with a last minute gift to give should bring it in early next week, so we can have a final count and decide what to send.

 Indoor Athletic Results

This afternoon, Class 3 attended the first round of the indoor athletics competition. They all took part in a circuit of field events and then they competed in the track sprints. There were 6 teams and we finished an extremely close 2nd to St Lawrence’s … just one point in it!! We have qualified to go to the regional final. Well done all. Here are the results:

One lap sprint: Alfie Lawton 1st, Jake Jones 1st, Mary 2nd

Two laps: Harrison 1st, Matthew 2nd, Tia 2nd and Emily 4th

Three laps: James 1st, McKenzie 1st, Georgia 1st, Amelie 2nd

Four lap Parlauf: Louis and Keehin 2nd, Serena and Bella 2nd

One lap relay: Boys 1st, Girls 2nd

Very impressive results and all Class 3 should be very proud of their success and achievements.

 Tri Golf

Years 3/4/5 will be going to Church Stretton Secondary School for Tri Golf on the morning of Thursday 18th January. They should arrive in their kit and will be back for lunch as usual.

Friday 19th, the winning netball team will be competing in the Netball Finals at Church Stretton Secondary School in the morning. The 7 in the team are:

Alfie L, James O, Matti, Tia, Serena, Bella and Georgia.

PTA Meeting and Bike Show

The next PTA meeting will be next Wednesday 17th January at 8pm in the Plough. All welcome. The main subject will be this year’s bike show which will be held on Sunday 18th March so please save the date! Have a look at our website www.shropshirevintagebikeshow.co.uk or the Facebook page wistanstow vintage and classic motorcycle show.

For new parents who may not have heard about the “bike show” yet, this is a massive fundraiser that requires all hands on deck. You may have noticed that you have not been asked to pay for any school trips and little extras (ex. school sport kit). This is because all funds raised at the bike show are spent to the benefit of every child at the school. It also provides the school with much needed funds for things that are no longer covered in the government budgets.
