Well Done!

  Bike Show News

As the snow melts away we feel that the right decision was made to cancel the bike show. We are just very sorry it didn’t happen, so a big thank-you to everyone anyway for selling the raffle tickets and baking cakes.  We’ve tried to recuperate as many costs as possible, donations for cakes that were baked, the raffle raised over £700, and another thank-you to the Village Hall Committee for waiving the hall fee.

The draw winners were £75 – Thelma Atherton, £50 – Jeanette Price (who have both kindly donated their winnings to the PTA) and £25 – Carol Morris.

The student/family who sold the most raffle tickets and wins £10 is Rhys P!

The next PTA meeting will be on Thursday 19th April at 3:20pm in the school – main topic will be other fundraising ideas to try to fill the huge hole left in the PTA budget.

  Sport

A successful morning was had at the Regional Dodgeball tournament…. the team played brilliantly and won all their matches to be top of their Group. They

reached the final where they played Condover. They went on to win convincingly and will go on to represent South Shropshire at the Summer school Games.

Last year, we were the overall winners and the best primary dodgeball team in Shropshire…let’s see if this year’s team can emulate their predecessors!!

Tessa and I felt very proud of their achievement… very well done. Vicki

  Class 2 Parents Dinner

Class 2 parents are invited to join the school for dinner on Wednesday at 12:00. All order forms should be handed in already but if you have not done so, please phone the school and we will see if Hattie can squeeze you in.

 Music

Our after school music club has been very successful this half term and we intend to continue this after half term, with some sessions on African Drumming, where children can learn how to use a different set of drums. It is not too late to join this fun group which will continue after school on Wednesdays, from 3.10 until 4.00. There will be six sessions at £3.50 per session.

Drumming lessons will continue during the six afternoons at £5 per session.

 Easter Service

Our Easter Service will be at 2.30 on Wednesday 28th March and we will not be holding a tea and cakes session afterwards, as we have only just had one for our Ron Maund plaque unveiling.
